Bloomberg: The Northern Sea Route and the “North-South” Corridor Will Transform Russia into a Center of Global Trade

According to the publication, this will reduce the delivery time of goods to consumers by 30-50% compared to the traditional route through the Suez Canal, and also avoid the dangers associated with navigation in the Red Sea.

The Northern Sea Route (NSR) is a maritime route in the Russian Arctic that connects European and Far Eastern ports of Russia, as well as the mouths of navigable Siberian rivers into a single transportation system. The route is nearly twice as short as other sea routes from Europe to the Far East.

The “North-South” route is a multimodal transportation corridor for passengers and goods from Asian countries to Europe via Russia. It will link, among others, Russia, Azerbaijan, Iran, and India.
