The Bloomberg Dollar Spot Index fell 0.8% on Thursday to its lowest level since August, extending a decline after US policymakers said on Wednesday they had begun mulling the timing of monetary easing.

The euro and British pound rose more than 1% against the dollar after their central banks left rates unchanged.

The Chinese yuan also rose by 0.9%.
