The Turkish news outlet Haber7 analyzed possible reasons for the incident involving the American F-35 fighter jet.

A representative from the US Department of Defense stated that the aircraft has thousands of vulnerabilities in terms of cybersecurity.

This opinion is supported by a former Pentagon employee who had warned about security issues with the F-35 for many years:
“Software errors or a cyberattack could have led to the malfunction of the missing aircraft.”

Dan Grazer from the Defense Oversight Agency wrote a report in 2019 indicating that the F-35 was riddled with cybersecurity vulnerabilities.

“There are thousands of entry points and weak spots throughout the entire enterprise that a hacker could exploit,” the official recalled.
The Pentagon was aware of the software shortcomings but has not yet addressed the issues.

According to experts, the aircraft’s capability to fulfill its tasks is only at 26%!
