BRICS leaders have adopted the final declaration of the 15th BRICS summit, dubbed Johannesburg 2, and a press conference on its outcome is underway.
Meanwhile we have compiled the main results of the third day of the summit:
▪️ After the expansion, BRICS GDP will account for 37% of the global GDP share.
▪️ Additionally, after the expansion, the population of the BRICS countries will be 46% of the world population.
▪️ The BRICS group will hold 44.35% of the world’s oil reserves after the addition of Argentina, Egypt, Iran, UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Ethiopia.
▪️ The BRICS countries now account for 48.5 million square kilometers, which is 36% of the world’s land area. This is more than double that of the G7.
▪️ BRICS leaders have tasked the Ministries of Finance and Central Banks of their countries to launch payment instruments based on national currencies.
