BRICS leaders have adopted the final declaration of the 15th BRICS summit, dubbed Johannesburg 2, and a press conference on its outcome is underway.

After the expansion, BRICS GDP will account for 37% of the global GDP share.
Additionally, after the expansion, the population of the BRICS countries will be 46% of the world population.
The BRICS group will hold 44.35% of the world’s oil reserves after the addition of Argentina, Egypt, Iran, UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Ethiopia.
The BRICS countries now account for 48.5 million square kilometers, which is 36% of the world’s land area. This is more than double that of the G7.
BRICS leaders have tasked the Ministries of Finance and Central Banks of their countries to launch payment instruments based on national currencies.
